CPH Communications and Design Intern
Position Summary
Computational Precision Health (CPH) is looking for an undergraduate or master’s student to help design and develop content for CPH communications and social media. This person will partner with CPH staff and other student assistants to grow our presence across platforms and help tell CPH’s story. This role reports to Kristi Leung, Program Engagement Manager.
CPH Overview
The UCSF UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health (CPH) bridges the health AI gap through a new discipline combining machine learning/AI, health practice, and equity. Uniting UC Berkeley’s excellence in engineering and statistics with UCSF’s leadership in clinical care and informatics, CPH transforms health through cross-institutional innovation.
CPH is an interdisciplinary PhD training program and a research center with world-changing impact. We exemplify a new paradigm that combines computation with multimodal health data–from electronic health records, images, sensors, clinical notes, public health records and more–to tailor diagnosis, prevention, and treatment more precisely and effectively to individual patients and communities.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce short form video and graphic content for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and other platforms, at a pace of about one to two posts or videos per week
- Create one to two graphic design pieces per week
- Research, pitch, and help produce content for CPH social media and communications
- Support website and newsletter staging as needed
- Assist with analysis of CPH social media performance and suggest strategies for improvement
- Develop and maintain a database of CPH faculty, partners, and key actors in the field
- Contribute to quality assurance and audience and message amplification
- Depending on interest and skill, the student may also help with illustration, photography, animation, or additional video editing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing social media or other communications content for a club, organization, brand, or similar
- Comfortable with Canva or Adobe tools and video editing software
- Excellent written and visual communication skills
- Experience with social media platforms and metrics
- Able to work independently, and to spot, flag, and recommend solutions to issues in the role’s areas of responsibility
- Strong attention to detail and organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Students with interest in use of data science or computation to improve health systems, health equity, public health strongly encouraged to apply

Anticipated Salary: $22/hr
Hours/week: 8-12 hrs/week
On campus requirements: This work will primarily happen on campus at the Gateway building, with some opportunity for remote work.
